Today is the day the Havens family re-enters the real world. The world where the big girls get up at 6:45am to catch the bus by 7:15am to head off to school. The world where Andy gets up before 5am to clear off his car and dig himself out of the driveway in order to get to the boat no later than 6am to prepare for another week of sailing who knows where for who knows how long. The world where I have to pick up the pieces of my house which was so clean and immaculate just a few short weeks ago and spend all of our money on heating oil. Ahhh....the good days.
I have to admit, I'm glad the older two are back in school. I love them and I really did enjoy all the time they spent at home and the sleeping in. But Livy was so desperate to return to school, convinced somehow I was keeping her at home longer than I should be, I just couldn't take it anymore. I foresee her jumping in to the arms of her teacher and yelling "I'm BACK!" lol I'm really not glad Andy is gone. Tomorrow is our 8th wedding anniversary. And, like 6 others, we will not be spending it together. It doesn't bother me as much as perhaps it should. I would like to spend my wedding anniversary with the man I married but so often it hasn't happened that I gave up worrying about it years ago. It's a special day, yes, but like all special days can be celebrated whenever we are together. I think we'll go out to dinner on Friday or Saturday for my birthday/our anniversary. Though, I'm secretly hoping on his way home from the boat when they pull in he stops and buys me flowers or a card or something. We'll see.
