A quick run-down of September events

I know I haven't been blogging much lately. I try but time always seems to slip away from me. The beginning of September, of course, brought the first day of school for Tory and Livy. Tory, in 3rd grade this year, has Ms. Leclerc whom she seems to completely adore. Livy, in 1st grade, has Ms. Labbe. Ms. Labbe we already know is a wonderful teacher since Tory had her for both first and second grade.

The 12th of September was Tory's 8th birthday. The evening of the 11th started her very first slumber party, which I truly believe was the best slumber party of all time. That same week we'd found out from Andy's CG detailer that he wasn't going to just give us his extension. We have to fight to keep the job he has for an extra year. Part of me is totally fine with this. I'm fine with moving and I'm excited at the prospect of a new place and maybe being closer to home. Another part of me, however, is irritated. Now we won't know for sure if we are leaving til he gets orders, whenever that is, and we have to act as if we have to get the house on the market, even if it turns out we don't. I don't want to get my hopes up for staying and I don't want to get too attached to the idea of leaving either. I call this place Limbo Land and I don't like it here.

At Tory's 8 year old check up a couple of weeks ago the dr mentioned she either had the start of yet another sinus infection going on or some sort of allergic rhinitis. Awesome. At this, I mentioned that I really was concerned at the number of ear infections and sinus infections she'd had over the last few years and that since she is a snorer maybe we should look into her adenoids and tonsils. She was glad to set up an xray and called me a couple of days later to tell me that her adenoids were indeed enlarged and she was getting a referral set up for Tory to see an ENT as soon as possible. That turned out to be last Friday, the 24th. We went in, he looked at her, looked at her xrays, looked at her history, asked me a few questions and decided, without a shadow of a doubt, her adenoids needed to come out. So, the surgery is scheduled for Oct. 4 at 8:15 am. I'll keep you all posted.

Last, but not least, our September goings-ons brings us the news of a new member of the family! Ryker Lee Henson, son of Amanda (Havens) Henson and Brandon Henson was born at 6:59 am today, weighing 6 lbs 3 oz and measuring 18.5 inches long. We're so happy for the new little family, super excited to have a nephew, and looking forward to meeting the little guy at Christmas.
