Let me start off by saying that yesterday was actually the 2nd week of t-ball for the girls. Last Thursday Chloe and I spent all day talking about t-ball and how much fun it was going to be and how many friends she was going to make. We talked about getting to run, throw the ball, hit the ball. We talked about how everyone was going to think her blue ball glove was so cool and how they would love the yellow and pink bat. She asked me about 47 times how much longer it was til we could head off to the YMCA. When it finally was time to leave, she chattered in the backseat of the car about how great it was going to be, kicking her little feet and giggling. We pulled in to the parking lot and I unbuckled her, catching her as she literally jumped from the car and yelled "Hurry!" We walked on to the field. She went from running, to walking, to shuffling, to hanging on to my leg, to bursting in to tears. From that moment and for the next 30 minutes she cried and refused to participate. It wasn't exactly the first t-ball practice I'd imagined for her.
Luckily, it went great for Tory and Livy. They had friends on the team and had a ball practicing hitting, throwing, fielding grounders, and running the bases. Last night they received their team shirts.
Also last night, Chloe did awesome at her practice. She played catch with Andy. She ran the bases. She did the stretches. She hit the ball off the tee. She laughed, she giggled, she chatted with the other little girls. Overall, I'm pleased to proclaim last night a huge success and we are all looking forward to next week now!
